Specifically, Cornwall borough features three parks. The first is Snitz Park located beside Cornwall Elementary School. This park features tennis courts, baseball field, multipurpose field, concession building and restrooms. Goosetown Park which is in Rexmont includes a baseball field and basketball court. Finally, Miners Village Sports Park features a lighted youth ballfield and street hockey rink. All three parks are currently under the planning phase for expansion of both the amenities offered and the area of the parks increased.
In the County…
Within Lebanon there is also, Coleman Memorial Park on the north side of the city with over 99-acres of green space. Also, Stoever’s Dam Park in the northeast section of the city offers 153 acres for camping, picnicking, canoeing, fishing, and hiking.
Next, the Swatara State Park is about 14 miles north of Lebanon. This outdoor oasis features 3,520 acres of outdoor recreation. There are 18.2 miles of hiking trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding. There are also several access points to Swatara Creek for tubing, canoeing, kayaking, or fishing.
Another great spot for outdoor recreation is the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail which runs right through Cornwall. The closest access point is about a mile south of the home along Cornwall Road at the Cornwall Trailhead. This is also the location of the seasonally operated Root Beer Barrel and The Iron Bridge leading you toward Mt. Gretna. The trail is a national recreation trail that runs throughout the county and connects to trails in surrounding counties. It is a great spot for walking, riding bike or horseback riding in some areas. The Cornwall & Lebanon Railroad and The Cornwall Railroad are the two railroad lines that complete this rebuilt trail. Once completed this will be a 25-mile trail. There are multiple trail heads and the closest is about two miles from the home with access to a nearly 18 mile section of active trails.
School District…
The home is in Cornwall-Lebanon School District. This public-school District is in the south-central part of Lebanon County and encircles the city of Lebanon. Four elementary schools, a middle school and high school make up the district. Cornwall-Lebanon School District, nicknamed Cedar Crest is home of The Falcons. The student population of Cedar Crest is a little over 4,800 which makes it the largest of the six schools in Lebanon County.
