The George H. Kaufman Jonestown Community Park offers several amenities and is only a mile from the home. There is a large playground, 3 baseball fields, two tennis courts, a basketball court, and sand volleyball court. Also included in the park is a long walking trail. Multiple structures are available for events including a band shell, concession stand and pavilion.
Next, the Swatara State Park is about 8 miles north of the house. This outdoor oasis features 3,520 acres of outdoor recreation. There are 18.2 miles of hiking trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding. There are several access points to Swatara Creek and natural areas for hunting, fishing, and kayaking.
For another option, in just under 10 miles, you have the Memorial Lake State Park. This park is located in northwestern Lebanon County adjacent to Fort Indiantown Gap. The park is home to an 85-acre lake with access for fishing, sailing, paddling or kayaking. In addition, there are picnic areas and trails
Within the county there is also, Coleman Memorial Park on the north side of Lebanon City with over 99-acres of green space. Also, Stoever’s Dam Park in the northeast section of the city offering 153 acres for camping, picnicking, canoeing, fishing, and hiking.
Another great spot for outdoor recreation is the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail. This is a national recreation trail that runs throughout the county and connects to trails in surrounding counties. It is a great spot for walking, riding bike or horseback riding in some areas. The rebuilt trail is put together from two local railroads, The Cornwall & Lebanon Railroad and the Cornwall Railroad. Once completed this will be a 25-mile trail. Currently there is a small section complete nearby in Jonestown. Or you can access the trail from multiple trail heads on the south side of the county to use the nearly 18 miles of active trail.
School District…
The home is a part of the Northern Lebanon School District. This district is comprised of 4 elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and virtual academy. In total, the district has a student population of around 2,600 students and around 400 teachers and staff. The district has a “Kids First” focus.
